FAQ
Can I use the Career Minded service even though I’m not planning to pursue a tertiary level education?
Unfortunately, No. We are focused exclusively on assisting Australian senior secondary school students considering tertiary level education and related professions only.
Are the assessments hard?
No, you’ll find them more interesting than difficult to complete. Remember to answer the questions honestly as they relate to the person you are. Also, remember that these are not tests but assessments designed to find out about you and your individual preferences.
How long do the assessments take to complete?
It should only take you about 30 minutes to complete the assessments. Make sure you find a nice quiet spot, free from distraction to complete them. Don’t forget to watch the assessment video prior to starting the assessment.
Why don’t I receive my results as soon as I have completed the online Assessments?
After you complete our assessments, we examine your responses and produce your personalised report. This usually takes a few days and is an important part of the process to ensure you receive an accurate and relevant report, that best describes you.
How long until I get my Assessment results / feedback report?
We need a few days to prepare your personalised feedback report which we will send via a secure link to your nominated email address and a hard copy to your home, or school address, depending on which you prefer.
How long until I receive my personalised feedback video?
We usually send your personalised video feedback about a week after you receive your report. This gives you time to review your report prior to viewing your feedback video.
Can my preferences and strengths change?
Yes, your preferences can change as you mature and gain a better understanding of yourself. We focus only on assessing senior secondary school students who generally have a strong level of self awareness and a clear understanding of what preferences and strengths they have.
What if the results don’t seem quite right for me?
Generally the assessment results and feedback we provide is well received. If your report doesn’t seem to be an accurate reflection of the person you are, please let us know at questions@careerminded.com.au and we will contact you to discuss the content of your report.
How up to date is the university guide?
The university guide is updated yearly – so the version you are referencing was most likely updated within the last 3 – 6 months, if not more recently.
Can we send you a question after the 3 month expiry period?
Of course! – we are on this journey together. We set a 3 month limit to encourage you to focus on the decision making process rather than letting it drag out. The sooner you make your decisions regarding potential future study options the sooner you can start focusing on getting the best results during the final stages of your secondary school education. If you have a questions after the 3 month period, then send them through to: questions@careerminded.com.au and we’ll get back to you as soon as possible, usually within 24 – 48 hours.
